Sultry Nandana Sen

Nandana Sen (19 August, 1967) is a Bollywood actress born in Calcutta. Nandana Sen is the daughter of Nobel Prize laureate Amartya Sen. Her mother is Bengali writer Nabanita Dev Sen. Nandana Sen is now in the news for her much publicised nude scene in Ketan Mehta's forthcoming movie Rang Rasiya. (Click to enlarge images)





Nandana Sen started her acting career with the movie 'The Doll'. Nandana Sen has acted in Bollywood movies such as My Wife's Murder, Tango Charlie and Black.







Some of the other movies she has acted in are The Forest, The World Unseen, It's a Mismatch, Strangers, Marigold, The War Within, The Miracle: A Silent Love Story, Bokshu, The Myth, Branchie, Seducing Maarya.

In 2008 she appeared in the British television series Sharpe, in the episode Sharpe's Peril.

Nandana Sen's frontal nude scene in Rang Rasiya

Beautiful Bollywood actress Nandana Sen has done a frontal nude scene in Ketan Mehta's film Rang Rasiya. The scene which is a crucial part of the film's narrative, involved a wide angle shot of Nandana Sen's bare breasts, but it had been picturised in an aesthetic manner. The Censor Board had initially objected to the scene, but it has now passed the scene. (Click to enlarge images)









Since the scene was the essential core of the film, members of the Censor Board accepted the scene and cleared it. However they have not allowed it to be shown in the opening credits.

Rang Rasiya is based on the life of the famous 19th century Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma, who used to paint nude women in the 19th century and early part of the 20th century. Raja Ravi Varma had painted his muse Sugandha in different representations of goddesses from Hindu mythology, due to which he had faced opposition from various groups and had been arrested for his artistic works.









Raja Ravi Varma's role is played by actor Randeep Hooda while Nandana Sen plays the role of his muse Sugandha who is a passionate and sensual girl.

Nandana Sen, who is the daughter of Nobel laureate Amartya Sen, said that her father loved the film Rang Rasiya when it was screened at the London Film Festival. The film has also been screened at Cannes and Venice film festivals and has won critical acclaim.











Rang Rasiya is an adaptation of Ranjit Desai’s Marathi novel on Raja Ravi Varma. Music has been composed by Sandesh Shandilya and the songs have been sung by Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan and others.
